About
Google’s spaces have always sparked a lot of curiosity, but until recently, they were kept mostly behind closed doors. Opening the Gradient Canopy campus in Mountain View to the public for the very first time was a landmark moment, transforming the site into a vibrant community hub. The newly envisioned Google Visitor Experience needed a holistic brand and a digital home to bridge those physical and digital interactions, creating an environment that felt intuitive, welcoming, and built to evolve.
I had the pleasure of helping translate Google's ethos of innovation and community into this visual identity and online home. We developed a comprehensive, end-to-end brand system spanning a website, colour palettes, bespoke type systems, logos, illustrations, signage, and marketing materials. My focus was on ensuring the digital brand and website were intuitive and immersive, designed to deliver real-time, dynamic content. Every element was crafted to connect visitor interactions from entry to exit, forming a cohesive and expressive system that mirrored the physical space.
By seamlessly integrating digital and physical touch points, we ensured every visitor's journey, both online and in person, was as inspiring as the architecture itself. Interactive artworks, local pop-up shops, and communal spaces were highlighted, reinforcing Google's commitment to sustainability and innovation. The scalable identity successfully united the online and physical experiences, establishing the campus as a truly welcoming space.
